THE TEA PET: TRANSFORMING CAT
THE TEA PET: TRANSFORMING CAT
In traditional gongfu tea culture, the tea pet is never washed.
It is seasoned — slowly, over years — by the tea poured over it during each session. The oils, the colour, the warmth. A quiet record of every ritual it has witnessed.
This cat transforms with heat. Pour hot water over it and watch what changes. It is a small thing. But small things, noticed carefully, are rarely small.
A tea pet is not decoration. It is a reminder to pay attention — to the temperature of the water, the colour of the liquor, the pace of the session. To the fact that something is happening, even when it seems like nothing is.
The price is symbolic. This little companion already has a life. You are simply the next person it sits with.
